We all want what’s best for our children. For each family, this can mean different things. It could mean being raised by both parents in the same home; however, when divorce tears a family apart, this means establishing a new parenting plan that works best for everyone. In society today, shared parenting isn’t just the trend, it is considered the best option for the children. This also holds true for celebrity parents going through dissolution.

According to reports, following their divorce, actor Josh Duhamel and singer Fergie decided to co-parent their four-year-old son. According to Duhamel, things are going well, and the two of them currently have a great relationship.

Because they want what is best for their son, they view their custody arrangement like a juggling act. The two of them handle a lot day-to-day because of their careers; however, they find that their son is happy, which is the focal point of the matter. While Fergie claims she wanted to stay married forever and they only intended to separate and not divorce, it was determined that divorce was best for everyone involved.

Whether you lead a busy work life or stay at home with your child, it is important to understand how a child will be impacted by divorce. This also means maintaining the relationship between a parent and child. Thus, developing a shared parenting agreement, such as a co-parenting plan, could meet the needs and bests interests of your child. Although divorce is never easy, when the focus remains on the child, an amicable and workable child custody arrangement could be agreed upon.
